Dean Hartley of iOrthotics speaking to QLD manufacturers,
The Queensland government is promoting some of the leading companies in the state’s burgeoning manufacturing sector through this week’s “Inside Advanced Manufacturing” series of events.
On the first day of the May 20 – 24 initiative, the state’s manufacturing minister Cameron Dick said manufacturing was critical to “creating the regional jobs of the future” and employment had increased 5.3 per cent in the year to the March quarter, adding 8,700 jobs.
“Around 30 per cent of this is delivered through innovative regional manufacturers like CSF, demonstrating just how critical this industry is to creating the regional jobs of the future,” Dick said during a tour of CSF Industries. CSF employes over 200 in Cairns and Townsville and is displaying its robotic technologies today.
“CSF Industries, a leading supplier of steel fabrication to major clients across Australia and South East Asia, holds a unique position in the construction and fabrication industry in Northern Australia as the only single-source engineering, fabrication, coating, roofing and installation company in regional Queensland,” added Dick.
During the program this week, 20 of the state’s manufacturers – including B&R Enclosures, iOrthotics, and Evolve Group – are opening their doors to other companies to share their knowledge as part of the program.
